Max T. Barron, 78, of Cedar Park, Texas passed away January 13, 2010.  He was the second of four children born July 9, 1931 to Max Tillman and Louise Barron.

Max grew up in Georgetown, Texas and was enthusiastic about many things throughout his life.  Among those interests were sports, hobbies, history, genealogy, art, his sons and their families.   In high school Max participated in football, basketball and track then played football at Schreiner Institute in Kerrville before participating  in track at the University of Texas.  He interrupted his education to join the Navy in 1953 and received an honorable discharge in 1955. 

Max received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. 

The greatest joy Max experienced was in helping to raise his two sons Douglas Robert and Paul Alex Barron.  He leaves his beloved sons, daughter-in-law Maria; two grandchildren Allyson and Ryan, three step-grandchildren Alina, Sam and Sarah.  He is survived by sister JoAnn and son-in-law Herschel, sister Alice “Cookie” and partner Kaye Garms; three nieces Helen Banks, Carolyn and Bruce Preston, Dana and Doug Boom; three nephews  Donald and Sherry Kilbourn, Robert and Shelly Kilbourn, Lee and Lisa Barron; 12 great-nieces and nephews and 14 cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Max Tillman and Louise Barron and brother and sister-in-law Donald L. and Dian Barron.

A hallmark of Max’s character was his natural generosity, sense of humor and dedication to his family.

A memorial service will be held at the IOOF cemetery in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday, February 21st at 10am. All who knew and loved Max are welcome to attend.
