On this first day of October, 2010 ... we were sitting around and reminiscing about our good
friends from the early days of Doug, Paul, Max & Angela. As "next" door neighbors, we spent quite a bit of time with them & our two girls who were the same age. "Let's google" Max ... & go from there ! Sadly ... I can only wish that we had googled much earlier ... we certainly have thought of the Barron family many times over the years. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Max was very much .. so proud of his family and his Texas upbringing and he & I enjoyed the football flashbacks & he loved to talk about his family back home. He was a wonderful person, quiet, respectful and represented the highest values of what a man should be. We missed him when they moved .. & are really missing him now. Such a talented man and so loving of his family. Doug & Paul ... you must have been so proud of him! Wendy & Dawn were sorry to hear the news. Should you ever return to the area ... we would love to here from you. We hope your Mom is well.
We send our sympathy to Cookie and Joanne and to Max's family. Both of us were in school with the Barron kids. Dian and Don were friends of ours and were in each other's weddings; also were in Midland, TX when we moved there. Max visited there many times. He was there when our daughter was born and remarked how pretty she was, which, of course, was exactly what I wanted to hear. We have many memories of Max and the Barron family.
I last visited with Max at a family get- together about two years ago in Georgetown. I enjoyed seeing him and the rest of the family then. My deepest sympathy goes out to the chidren and to Cookie.
To all of Max's family I wish to express my sympathy. Several years ago when "Cookie" was visiting Texas she brought Max out to Lago Vista. We had a good visit and he was very interested in some fossils and rocks that I collect, in fact he told us all about them.
When Max moved into the nursing home I went to visit him. Once I took my small dog with me and he enjoyed having her sit on his lap. Max was so pleasant and seemed to be very content It was indeed a pleasure to get to know him. I know his kind and sweet spirit lives on in his family.

I never met his wife and children, I'm sorry I didn't make it to the reunion Cookie
had several years ago.
Max was certainly loved by his family, and this is a wonderful page that was set up for him.
